I can’t believe this day has come! We’ve lived in our house for 8 years, and for 8 years I really never loved our kitchen. Those feelings about my kitchen have ALL changed with this painted kitchen cabinet makeover!
It’s amazing how paint can transform a space and truly brighten up a room. I’m sharing all the details of my painted kitchen cabinet makeover today!
I painted the island myself a few years ago. I told myself then, that when I was ready to do the whole thing I was going to bring in the professionals. Haha! Not only is it a big job, but I knew I would want it done right by someone who truly knew what they were doing!
My friend Carrie at CHigh Designs has done tons of cabinets for clients and friends of mine. I know her, her quality of work and I trust her 100%! So, she was of course the first person I called when we were ready to have this project done! I knew they would get it done right and that it would look beautiful in the end!
Carrie understood my vision and was so awesome to work with. If you are local to the Nashville/South Nashville area- be sure to check out her FB page and all of her awesome before and afters! If you use her for a project, be sure and tell her Stacey sent ya! Again, I can’t say enough great things about working with her and her team. THANK YOU, Carrie and CHigh Designs!
Let’s get right to it! Here are some before pictures!
We decided to add some bead board to a couple of spots to give it a more custom look. We also added trim around the island for a board and batten look. These little changes ended up making a huge difference in the end also!
Carrie and her team came and got started, and even with just the bases done I could tell I was going to be in love! The color we picked was Sherwin Williams, Greek Villa. It’s a beautiful shade of white that’s not too bright, but also not too creamy!
We also painted our pantry door while the kitchen was in progress. This was the perfect pop of color that I had been dreaming of in here. We decided on Sherwin Williams, Quietude for it.
Install day rolled around and that is when it ALL came together! My painted kitchen makeover was complete! I told Carrie I might just sit and cry happy tears the rest of the day!
Here are the after pictures! Let me know what you think of this painted kitchen cabinet makeover!
Thank you so much for sharing in my excitement along the way with this project! You guys truly are the best! I never really share a lot of pictures from this angle, because I never liked my cabinets. I have a feeling you will be seeing A LOT more from this view from here on out! 🙂

Gorgeous!
Thank you!!
Oh my goodness Stacey! It is fabulously beautiful! What a transformation. You did a wonderful job in selecting the colors. I truly love everything about it.❤️❤️❤️
You are too sweet! Thank you SO much!
Love the kitchen cabinets. I’ve been thinking of doing that as well. If you don’t know someone, how do you find a reputable source to paint the cabinets? Did they brush paint the frame and spray the doors?
Is it a good hard paint that won’t chip?
Hey!I would definitely ask around your town for a good company! And yes, I know she used a super high quality cabinet paint that won’t chip! Good luck!!
It’s beautiful Stacey..she did a wonderful job!! Now all you need is your table. Which one did you decide on?
Thank you, Joyce! Haven’t decided just yet! Will keep you posted 🙂
Looks beautiful!! Love the changes

Absolutely gorgeous! You made the right decision and I’m sure you will be happy with it.
P. S. I love the table the way it is.
Aww, thanks so much Beth! I do love the way the table looks in here! We will see 🙂
It’s so pretty! I love how everything goes so well together?
Thank you!! I so appreciate it!
Amazing the change…….it is truly beautiful! And the door just adds so much!
Thanks, Missy! I agree that the door adds the perfect pop it needed!
Looks wonderful! BUT, I really think the “backsplash” needs changing now. I would use the same paint as the wall color. The wall color just pops now, with the white cabinets! So happy for you!
Thank you!! We may change it down the road, but I’m ok with it for now. We will see!
Stacey, wow ? your kitchen looks amazing. It is incredible how the white cabinets magically changed the style of your kitchen!! It looks so cozy, warm and inviting???? It is absolutely Gorgeous !!!! I am sure you sit in your living room and just stare at it’s beauty. I think the table top color might need to change ; maybe back to the wood tone or possibly the color of the pantry door. So excited for you ; you give us such inspiration .
Yes, I do! I am on the search for a new table eventually for the space!
Hi Stacey,
This is a very random question but I noticed you have a wooden cover for your cooktop and no overhead vent. Does your cooktop have a downdraft or do you just do without it? My kitchen is very similar and it’s on my long list up updates to paint my cabinets. This is a great before and after!
Yes, our stove is on the island and has a downdraft. I don’t love it being on the island just because our island is small and it takes up a lot of space. Hope that helps! And thanks!
Beautiful❤️ Can I ask where you got your curtains?
I just finished putting in new counter top and tile on back of our cupboards. I am debating on painting our cupboards. They are the dark oak like yours, but we also have dark woodwork throughout the whole house!?
Curtains came from Kohl’s a few years ago! I think it’s ok to have wood some places and white in the kitchen!
Love the white kitchen cabinets, she did a wonderful job simply beautiful.
She really did! Thanks so much!
Wow! Love it! Maybe I’ll get brave one day and have my oak cabinets painted white. (And when I can talk my husband into it. Lol) Looks gorgeous!
I’m sure they would be so pretty painted! Once you get the hubby on board. lol! Thanks!!
Beautiful job! What color paint did you use for your kitchen and living room?
Thanks! The wall color is Benjamin Moore revere pewter. Love it!
