If I think of a project that involves wood beads, you better believe I’m going to try it! I spotted something at Walmart that sparked an idea, and the rest is history!
This wood bead embroidery hoop DIY is simple yet classy and beautiful. It really makes a statement in your décor! Come see!
While browsing the aisle of Walmart one day, I found these gold metal wreath hoops. I instantly thought…I bet I could put beads on those!
I already had a 12″ embroidery hoop at home. You can find these at Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, Walmart, etc. over in the sewing section. So, my wheels started spinning and I grabbed some buffalo check fabric and beads!
First, I cut my fabric to where it was big enough to put inside the embroidery hoop. You just want it to fit snug and then tighten the 2 hoops together and trim off any excess fabric on the back.
Next, I used some wire cutters to clip 2 of the gold wreaths so that I could put my beads on. I used 20mm beads on the biggest hoop and just strung them on until it was full, then used hot glue to attach it back together in the middle.
Of course I wanted to paint some beads too, so I used some 14mm beads and painted them with my trick THAT YOU CAN SEE RIGHT HERE! I strung them on the smaller one and attached with hot glue also.
I simply used some twine to hang them from the top! I added some lambs ear greenery (hot glued it on) to the sides and then painted a little wood piece I had from Hobby lobby white and put it in the middle! For more detailed instructions, watch the FB LIVE HERE!
I’m truly so happy with how this turned out. It’s a timeless and classy piece and did I mention…IT HAS WOOD BEADS! haha!
Let me know what you think of this one and if you will try and make one too?!
Until next time…
Stacey
